Special Dog Needs a Special Home: "Donya" is a purebred Belgian Malinois who came to the states from Holland seeking adventure! After a career as a police dog, and a close shave with cancer, she is ready to settle down some and looking for her retirement home to enjoy a few more golden years. She is very intelligent and eager to please. If you have a securely fenced yard and plenty of tennis balls and the time and space to toss them every day, Donya would be the happiest girl in the world!
With proper placement, Donya's adoption fee will be sponsored so please contact the shelter if you would like to meet her.

Feline Adoption Events a HUGE SUCCESS!The back-to-back feline adoption events at "Gone to the Dogs" and Murdoch's helped us find homes for 9 cats and 13 kitttens! Ark-Valley wishes to extend a great big "THANK YOU" to all the adopters. Remember, All adult felines are FREE with a donation of 1 new, unopened bag of cat food until August 31st . We Have Canines, Too: With all this talk about the cat crisis we don't want you to forget that Ark-Valley Humane Society always has a selection of wonderful dogs and puppies available for adoption as well. We now have extended hours of operation for your convenience, so if you're looking for a hiking companion or loyal "couch potato," consider adding one of these pups to your family today!

Spay/Neuter Coupons Available: Please help us curb pet-overpopulation and make your furry friend a healthier and happier companion by getting them fixed. Coupons are available to Chaffee County Residents in need of financial assistance. (If you cannot afford to cover ANY of the cost, please contact the shelter director, Michele Wayland, for other options.)
Coupons are available in Buena Vista at the shelter's main facility at 701 Gregg Drive or by faxed request from the Salida area at "Gone to the Dogs," conveniently located downtown on First Street.
